WeConservePA and the programming committee for the 2025 Pennsylvania Greenways & Trails Summit (September 21 – 23, Harrisburg) introduced their choice for keynote speaker:
Julie Judkins of Simply-Trails.
Julie Judkins is Founding father of Simply-Trails, a consulting apply devoted to regenerating nature and communities by means of the connective energy of trails. Julie develops signature programming to mobilize communities and younger individuals to take motion as land stewards. She consults for and with distinctive communities and path organizations world wide, supporting inclusive path design, engagement, and administration by means of technical help to construct capability for regenerative out of doors belongings.
In North Carolina, Julie coordinates the Nice State Trails Coalition, a statewide alliance of nonprofits, native governments, and trade companions advocating for elevated public funding ($61M up to now!) in all kinds of trails—throughout all 100 counties.
Beforehand, Julie served as Training and Outreach Director for the Appalachian Path Conservancy, the place she created award-winning training initiatives, youth applications, and neighborhood partnerships. She continues her service to trails by means of management roles on the boards of the Partnership for the Nationwide Trails System and the World Trails Community, and as a maintainer with the Carolina Mountain Membership.
Julie brings a world perspective to her work, having served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Armenia and labored with alternative youth at Outward Sure. She has a BA from NC State College and a Grasp of Environmental Administration by means of Duke’s Nicholas Faculty of Setting. When not advocating for inclusive trails programs – or sustaining them – she may be discovered gardening, cooking, or paddling down the river together with her son.
