Obituary: Allen “Toby” G. Franke – Model Slux

Allen “Toby” Franke, age 88, handed away on April 25, 2025, at Door County Medical Middle.

Toby was born in Sturgeon Bay, to Alfred and Margaret (Shine) Franke on Might 11, 1936. He attended Gibraltar Excessive Faculty and graduated with the category of 1954. Toby would enlist within the U.S. Military in 1955 and after two years of service was honorably discharged in 1957. Toby married Emelie Tweeten on June 21, 1958, in Whitehall, Wisconsin. Toby and Emelie remained in Door County and raised two sons.

He was a dairy farmer along with his father after which grew to become a plumber for Reinhard Plumbing for a few years earlier than establishing his personal enterprise, Toby’s Plumbing Service, till retirement. He was a talented craftsman who took delight in his capacity to sort things. His prognosis of Parkinson’s Illness finally took that away from him. He and Emelie loved touring to Alaska, Hawaii, Arkansas, Scandinavia, Mexico and lots of different locations. He liked fixing issues, fishing, gardening, images, making 4th of July parade floats, carpentry, stained glass work, sq. dancing and cross-country snowboarding. He adored his grandchildren and all the time appeared ahead to their visits.

Toby was a devoted worker and a centered and pushed enterprise proprietor. He was well-known in the neighborhood, having constructed lasting relationships with clients, members of his Church, associates, and neighbors. Toby had an infectious smile, an incredible humorousness, and a fascinating persona that naturally drew folks to him. He intently listened to others’ tales and tales then, in flip, didn’t miss the chance to proudly share tales of the positive factors and successes of his youngsters and grandchildren each time he had the chance. He was a proud household man and a humble servant of the Lord.

Toby is survived by his spouse, Emelie, with whom he shared over 66 years of marriage; they raised two sons, Randy of Fish Creek, and Michael (Karen) of Maplewood, Minnesota; grandchildren, Christopher Franke, Elizabeth Franke and Katie Mother or father; and sister, Joanne (William) Brungraber.

He was preceded in dying by his dad and mom.

The Memorial Service for Toby Franke will likely be held on Saturday, Might 3, 2025 at 11 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 7973 Hwy 57, Baileys Harbor, with Pastor Gary Scharrig officiating. A non-public household burial will likely be at Blossomburg Cemetery, Fish Creek.

A visitation for household and associates will likely be held Saturday, Might 3, 2025 from 9 am to 11 am on the church.

In lieu of flowers, the household requests memorials be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
